How Do Patients Prefer to Receive Patient Education Material about Treatment, Diagnosis and Procedures? <br/>—A Survey Study of Patients Preferences Regarding Forms of Patient Education Materials; Leaflets, Podcasts, and Video

Aim: The aim of this study was to explore patients’ preferences for forms patient education material, including leaflets, podcasts, and videos; that is, determine what information, besides provided verbally by healthcare personnel, do patients prefer following visits hospital? Methods: a mixed-methods study, using survey design with primarily quantitative items but qualitative component. A distributed over 18 years between May July 2020 480 chose respond. Results: Text-based materials (leaflets), is the form have most experience preferred 86.46% respondents; however, 50.21% 31.67% respondents would also like receive material in video podcast formats, respectively. Furthermore, several wrote about need different depending on subject supplementary information. Conclusion: This provides an overview regarding material. results show majority use combinations written, audio, thus applying co-constructing multimodal communication system, from which they select apply modes sources simultaneously.
